This research investigates the lessons learned in health services priority setting during the COVID-19 pandemic across Canada, Chile, and Uganda.
It aims to understand how these lessons are being integrated into routine health services and to identify the facilitators and barriers to their implementation. The ultimate goal is to develop evidence-based recommendations to enhance health services priority setting in Ontario and beyond.
Current Priority Area: Synthesizing Pandemic Lessons for Routine Health Services
We are currently focusing on synthesizing the key lessons learned from health services priority setting during the COVID-19 pandemic. This involves analyzing documents, media, and conducting interviews and group discussions with policymakers, hospital managers, and community representatives in Canada, Chile, and Uganda.
By identifying and distilling the best practices and lessons learned, this project aims to improve the quality and equity of health services priority setting. The findings will help health systems become more resilient and better prepared for future emergencies, while also informing routine health services decision-making processes.
